London Bridge Station

Phase 1 of Londond Bridge Station was the St Thomas Street elevation. This comprised of a total of 72 panels and sits alongside the iconic Shard building in Central London. The site was very tight and due to the size of the impressive brick faced arches and parapet units added to the fact we were working alongside the live platforms we had to introduce tandem lifts i.e. 2 cranes to lift one panel (see below image), ultimately we completed the works on a night shift.

In the new year Thorp Precast will begin manufacture on phase 2 which is on Tooley street, a separate façade for the London Bridge Station redevelopment scheme. This will be the new Tooley Street entrance to LB Station. A relatively small scheme, Tooley St is expected to run on two moulds during the first quarter of the year. These panels will feature a randomly scattered array of projecting bricks.
