A stunning combination of glass and black Architectural precast concrete panels illuminate the external façade. Thorp Precast were selected by Main Contractors, Sir Robert McAlpine to design, manufacture, supply and install more than 300 cladding panels with an acid etched finish to expose a carefully selected sparkling black granite aggregate.

However, the distinctive characteristics of these panels is articulated by way of a striking series of well-defined grooved vertical lines, and once all the units are assembled and installed in the correct order creates an impression of bar coding.

Sir Robert McAlpine Project Manager, David Firth was highly complementary about the role played by Thorp Precast in delivering the masonry façade package on time, and within budget, and points to early involvement, and outstanding teamwork as being key criteria in the overall success of the project. The Architectural precast concrete cladding and curtain walling interfaces were particularly challenging, and required some close cooperation amongst the respective design teams to ensure quick, efficient, and safe installation of materials were achieved on site.
