5. Via LinkedIn
6. Via Facebook Messenger
7. Recommendations from current employees of Thorp Precast

What information do we collect?

When you apply to work at Thorp Precast, we will only use the information you supply to us to process your application.  

The information we collect about you will be:

• Your name and address
• Your email address and contact phone numbers
• Your career history, skills and experience
• Referees and any other information you decide to include on your application form or CV.

What if you fail to provide personal information?

• If you fail to provide certain personal information when requested, we may not be able to process your job application properly or at all

What do we do with the information we collect?

Your personal information will be reviewed by the Recruitment Manager and, if selected, you will undergo selection interviews and assessments.    

All job applications are kept confidential and will be dealt with by the Recruitment Manager and the appropriate manager looking to fill their vacancy.  

Only in the case of obtaining references will we share your personal information with a past employer. We will not do this without informing you beforehand. Your referees must give their consent to you providing their information to us.

In very rare circumstances and only when asked, we may have to disclose your personal information by law, because a court or the police or other law enforcement agency has asked for it.


The purposes for which we process, or will process, health information and information about any criminal convictions and offences, are to:

• assess your suitability for employment 
• comply with the duty to make reasonable adjustments for disabled job applicants and with other disability discrimination obligations
• ensure compliance with your statutory rights
• ascertain your fitness to work
• ensure effective HR, personnel management and business administration

What happens if you are not successful with your application?

If you are not successful in your application, your personal information and interview notes will be held after the recruitment exercise has been completed.

What happens when you take up employment with Thorp Precast?

If you are successful and commence employment with Thorp Precast, your personal information will be passed onto the HR Manager and the Company Secretary who processes payroll.  

You will be provided with the GDPR Policy and Employee Privacy Notice which will detail what happens with your personal information once you are an employee.

How to get copies of, amend or ask us to delete the information we have collected.

You may request details of the personal information that we hold about you under the Data Protection Act 1998. If you would like a copy of the information held about you please write to us at Thorp Precast Ltd, Apedale Road, Chesterton, Newcastle Under Lyme, ST5 6BN.

If you think any information we have about you is incorrect or incomplete, or if you would like your data deleted, please write to us as soon as possible. We will correct, update or delete any information as soon as we can.

In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect, including locked cabinets, offices, and electronic password protection.
